Hi all!

For those who haven't gotten the Sister2Sister calendar or missed the announcements, here some upcoming events:

- Wed, 23 Sep, 7pm Book Club meets at T. P.s home.  The book is Bold Spirit
- Thurs, 24 Sep, 7pm Stake Emergency Preparedness Presentation at the Stake Center.  WATER
- Tues, 29 Sep, 7-9 pm, LADY BEWARE Self Defense Course at the Steeplechase RS room/Cultural Hall.  Young Women, Medium Women, Old Women and Neighbor Women and Friend Women are all invited to this FREE professional self-defense course.  Bring pen(cil) and paper for notes if you so desire. Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in.  No tutus.

16 July: Days For Girls Stake Humanitarian Service Project

Ladies,

Spend an hour or sew (see what I did there?) with some of the great Saints in Corner Canyon area.

When:Thursday, July 16th; 9 a.m. - noon or 6:30 - 9 p.m. 

           (every third Thursday of the month for 2015)
Where: Steeple Chase Chapel;1788 Aintree Ave, Draper, UT 84020 (our ward bldg)
Who: All Girls (recommended 12 and up) for fun service together.  (Some guys come also!)
What: Days for Girls' Humanitarian Project
Why: When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.  Mosiah 2:17

Hope you can make it!  I know, Sister MJN, you work in Babylon in the morning and the Temple Thurs nights, but one of these times... you are going to make it.

Our Relief Society Presidency would like to express our love and appreciation to all the wonderful sisters in our ward that have blessed our lives through all their love and support. We treasure this beautiful sisterhood and our testimonies of our Savior Jesus Christ, which have been strengthened through your amazing faith, example and willingness to serve. We have felt the great love God has for his daughters and testify of the importance of Relief Society in our lives in these latter days. It truly has been a blessing to serve.

God Be With You Til We Meet Again Sister Harris

Thousands are greeting our dear indexing/temple-going Sister Twyla Harris this evening on the other side of the Veil.
Sister Harris suffered a brain hemorrhage earlier today and passed away peacefully tonight in presence of loving family and friends.
Our Love and Prayers for Peace and Clarity to Cliff, Ellen, and daughters. We love you very much.

It might seem strange to announce such somber news/remembrances with an exuberant HURRAH!

But here we are.

Today, the Linton's daughter-in-law passed away after 36 passionate, determined years capped by a remarkable 8 year mixed-martial-arts-street-fight against the big C.  (For those of you who followed their story, here's the touching tribute to wife, mother, daughter Alisa Johnson Linton Obituary).

Several of you have inquired how you can help.  Our ward is helping to provide food. If you would like to contribute, please contact Sisters J. Tanner/R. Goldy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday May 22, 2015 at the Lehi East Stake Center at 851 N 1200 E. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 5:30-8:00pm at the same location as well as from 9:30 to 10:30 Friday morning.

This weekend also marks the tragic anniversary loss of both of Sister Jana White's parents (Issel Obituaries). They were young, exuberant and well known in our neighbourhood and their sudden loss was shocking but overshadowed by our desperate pleading for the saving of their grandson.  In this case, the miracle of life was granted and who can forget the neighbourhood lining East Ranch Circle to welcome Cooper home.

This weekend, in a nod to the truth of eternal families, we are invited to figuratively line the streets again as the White family has invited the ward family to stand as witnesses to their sacred Celestial sealing ordinance this Friday, 22 May.  Please dress Sunday best, arrive Draper Temple at 3:30 for the joyous 4pm sealing.

The truth is there is a God. The truth is He is mighty to save and heal. The truth is, we are here to have joy. The truth is...this was always the plan.

Just a helpful reminder that Stake Conference is this week April 18-19.  Adult session starts at 7pm Saturday Evening, 18 years and up!!  Our ward was invited to attend stake conference at the stake center at 10am for Sunday session.

Woo!  It's been blessedly busy.  We've been meeting new neighbors, passing on prom dresses, enjoying new teachers, rejoicing in children that say a kind word regarding their parents, rubbing shoulders with each other as we meet and cookie in the Women's General Session and clean side by side using too much Comet.  We are busy preparing for more General Conference Sessions and celebrating Easter in our own individual, family and friends' ways.  In all of this excitement and busy-ness, remember to love:  Love God, Love Neighbor.  Love Self.  Love.

We will be having a guest speaker Christopher Jones from Mitchell’s Journey and he will be sharing stories of Some Extraordinary Women in his life.  We will also be sewing some infant blankets and signing up for more service on our Seeds of service table.  So mark your calendars and invite the neighbors…..
